Poetry event this week, minus moi.

Ack! Due to a minor communication breakdown I'm showing up everywhere as reading at the Hideout this Thursday, but unless they are willing to move the Hideout to Ohio for a week, I will not be able to attend. You local folks should check it out, though! I am so disappointed, especially since there will be a DANCE PARTY after the reading.

More readings should feature dance parties afterwards. Many of my readings do feature dance parties, but only in the loo beforehand when I'm getting in the poetry spirit, or afterwards when I am shakin' it to 50 Cent in front of the jukebox at the drinkery affectionately known as FIGHT CLUB.

Here are the details, for those who won't be out of town:

ANOTHER CHICAGO MAGAZINE The literary magazine hosts a release party for its latest issue, with readings by Jason Bredle, Chris Hund, Matthew Guenette, Robert Archambeau, Kristy Bowen, Mary Biddinger, Kristy Odelius, and David McClure, along with DJ Birdie Num Num and "surprise guests." Thu 7/14, 9 PM, Hideout, 1354 W. Wabansia, 773-227-4433. $5 suggested donation.

Sad to hear you won't be there. Tell you what: I'll blog it, and you'll have the full-on virtual experience...
