House of Screams and Sniffles

Oh my. I went all year without having to cancel class, and here I am, day two of summer, and taking a sick day. We're all sniffling and hacking. I still hope, in my case, that it's just allergies, but that's doubtful, seeing how snotty Ray is right now. He's normally very non-snotty.

The house is totally chaotic. Big sister chasing little brother, both armed with plastic vehicles. Ray has filled his toy school bus with trains and ritz peanut butter crackers. The dog is chasing the cats and trying to steal the aforementioned crackers. I'm trying to "work from home." Everyone's in pajamas.

Editors, below please find the following poem for your consideration. I hope this exposure doesn't affect Gabi's chances of getting the work picked up. At first I thought there was a typo in the penultimate line, but then I realized the pure genius of "into A / gass of / milk." I saw a mouse do this in the cupbord under my sink in Chicago.

I think I deserve a co-author's credit on Gabi's poem, although perhaps she decided, in revision, to cut out my line about the "gass of milk / then turned / into a / a moustache."

Perhaps she just plain ran out of room. Or, alternately, maybe she is avoiding being labeled a member of the School of Moustachetude.

So, because I am not really "up" on the current trends, I have to ask..would Gabi's work be considered a language poem? :)
