Steady as she goes.

Well, it happened. I'm officially the mother of a kindergartener. The big drop-off was tearless and upbeat, which is a good sign. She's so ready. She can read, she can wear a size 6 polyester jumper, so she's ready. I am feeling old today, but not as old as I'll feel when wee Raymond dons the blue pants and walks up those steps.

You and Jodee should hang out. She's blogging about her kid starting first grade. Apparently, the little girl does not like being told to do work for 6 hours a day.

I am so thrilled for you! You are going to have such a great time seeing this aspect of learning. And when she starts to tell you all of th new stuff she's learning in school, your heart will melt.

I spy Catholic school uniformage. Ah, memories. And her hair is so Maryesque—quite a genetic inheritance!

P.S. I had to respond to this. Just last night I wrote a purposefully awful poem about kindergarten. I like making the bad ones on purpose as much I like making the mediocre ones by accident.

Hope your semester's shoo-bee-doo-bee-doo, O Bee!
