Anyway, my lack of blogging is more due to being busy than to relaxing, but I am going to try staying home today (except for doctor's appt) and "taking it easy." If you know me, I'm sure you can imagine how impossible this is. But I am going to try. I need to get better in time for Winter Wheat, and so I don't sound like Janis Joplin at Sara's thesis defense on Friday. Not to mention our week-long visit from H.L. Hix. Did I mention it's going to be a pretty wild week?
I removed the Halloween artifacts from my house today with much delight. Here's what it looks like in my neck of the woods.

Recommendations from an old pro at sinus/ear infections:
--hot ginger/lemon/honey tea (heavy on all three ingredients) with a dash of cayenne pepper. Drink tons of this and your ears will loosen right up.
--Chicken soup - with lots of lemon peel and tobasco added in, and spinach. Eat with an orange juice chaser.
--heating pads (or microwaved damp towels with a little lavender oil) on your bad ear for ten minutes, a couple of times a day. Heating pads are also good for your chest, if you've got a chest cold.
--Any soup, as long as it's spicy.
Hope you feel better soon! Hugs, j9
Thanks so much, Jeannine!
(Just another lovely thing that we have in common...)
A friend of mine used to swear by Jeannine's first suggestion up there.
Except that she added a liberal quantity of vodka.
Apparently, if it doesn't make you better, then at least you don't much care anymore. :)
Feel better soon!
Hi Mary -- Here is hoping that this post finds you feeling much better! I know you are involved with the teaching of poetry, so when you are feeling better (and if you have time), could you take a look at my latest post (Nov. 4) and see what you think?
